Field Hockey Drops Game to Wellesley

WELLESLEY, Mass - UMaine-Farmington field hockey dropped an 8-1 decision to Wellesley on Saturday in a non-conference match-up.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Hannah Maisano, junior Carson Dennis, and sophomore Caitlin Campbell each scored two goals apiece.
  • Junior Alex Bessey scored her team-leading fourth goal in the first quarter to tie the game at one.
  • Wellesley added four goals in the second half to pull away.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Wellesley finished the game with a 21-4 advantage in shots and also held an advantage in penalty corners 7-3.
  • Jenelle Sullivan made two saves in picking up the win.
  • Katelyn Rouleau and Grace DiMarco split the goalie duties for UMF, Rouleau making seven saves on 11 shots and DiMarco making one save on five shots
  • Abby Pomerleau had to shots on goal for UMF
